Fenders also referred to as front wings in the European market are the panels that shape out the wheel wells on the front of body of the vehicle. There are many styles of fenders from OEM replacement fenders to repair a vehicle after a collision as well as aftermarket styles that feature unique styling such as vents or widened track to allow for wider wheel and tire combination. We carry fenders manufactured of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) and carbon fiber. FRP fenders are most common due to the low cost of manufacturing thus having the largest selection. With an FRP fender you will need to test fit the product on the vehicle first and then remove it for painting at a local auto body shop. Carbon fiber fenders are extremely light weight and most commonly used in motorsports as well as in the custom car show culture. With carbon fiber fenders the item may be more expensive but you will not incur the cost of having the product painted. Installation of all fenders is a tedious process that requires often to remove the hood and front bumper from the vehicle. You need to pay close attention to the panel gaps at the hood as well as the door jam. We suggest starting the bolts just a few threads at all mounting points and then start at the door and tighten each bolt until the desired panel gap is achieved. Sometimes custom brackets or spacers will need to be used to get aftermarket fenders to align properly. Installation difficulty is rated a 3 out of 5 for most applications.
